CEBS is a student-run English radio station established in 1991 in the School of Foreign Languages at Hubei University. The students are involved in the radio’s operations and set up working groups in charge of programming, writing, editing, promotions and issuing English newspapers. CEBStransmits from Sunday to Monday on the analog frequency 85.5 FM. The station has now established a variety of columns, ranging from “Pop Pioneer”, “Phonograph”, “Fancy Album”, “Weekly Star”, “Yesterday Once More”, “Dreaming My Dream”, “Wish in the Air”, “World-Wide Watch” to “Talk Show”. It also serves for CET- 4 listening, CET- 6 listening, TEM-4 listening, TEM-8 listening, English Speaking Contest, Stage Play Performance Contest, English Dubbing Contest, English Pronunciation & Intonation Contest and other school-level English contests. CEBShas now become one of the major platforms for Hubei University students to participate in English extracurricular activities and helps them build their skills outside of the classroom.
